During the few days we spent in Mallorca, we had the opportunity to try out some delicious restaurants that all offered vegan plates. Here they are:
100% plant-based! Mama Carmen’s Coffee and Bakery (Palma): A 100% vegan coffee place! When we were there, we had a coffee and some cakes and donuts, but they also offer savoury dishes, such as sourdough toasts and breakfast bowls. The only reason we didn’t try everything was that we still wanted to be hungry for dinner in a few hours 😉 They also have a lovely little shop where you can get everything from plant-based milk to toiletries.
La Paloma (Palma): We came by this place by accident while looking for a place to escape the rain (yes…) in Palma de Mallorca. We tried the mallorcan vegetable curry that was super delicious and flavourful! Other than that, the menu also offers a beetroot tartare with avocado and apple, as well as hummus with rice focaccia. The only drawback is that the restaurant also lists vegetarian food containing milk and cheese, and even tuna, under “plant based”, so definitely be aware of that when visiting.
Retroway (Santanyí): This place had the most vegan options among all the restaurants we’ve visited. While we were there, we had the beetroot ravioli with a creamy cashew cheese filling as starters which were absolutely delicious! As a main, we had the vegan burger and shiitake meatballs, as well as the vegan cheesecake to share. Everything was super tasty and fresh, and the meals were arranged beautifully.
Pura Vida (Cala Figuera): We tried this out on our first night in Mallorca, as it was close to our AirBnb. The restaurant offers a breathtaking view over the ocean that you can enjoy with several vegan dishes, such as soup, hummus and vegetables, grilled veggies with garlic thyme oil or pumpkin risotto . As we were there in November, it wasn’t too busy, but during high season you should definitely reserve your table in advance.
Natur Poke (Puerto Pollença, but available in different places on the island): Poke bowls with an amazing view on the beach! You can select from different options or create your own bowl.
